The story of Jim Shore collectibles started from very humble beginnings.   Named after its creator, artist and entrepreneur, Jim Shore creations are original and sought after by collectors worldwide.  Jim Shore himself has expressed his sentiments and artistic creativity to his creations which are attributed to American folk art.  With historical European roots, the American folk art have evolved to the point where classic and modern artistic themes are mixed to create colorful and elaborate Jim Shore designs.

Jim Shore grew up and spent his childhood in rural South Carolina.  Growing up in South Carolina have opened Jim Shore’s eyes to the rich blend of American folk art and its roots from historic European culture.   Jim also grew up with artistic parents and master-crafter grandparents.  Jim was able to witness the artistic craftsmanship of his grandmother through the quilts she made.  Made with the skill and patience that only a master craftsman could do, handmade quilts by Jim’s grandmother are family treasures he cherish.  Jim is himself a collector.  He collects antique quilts that date back more than 150 years and the artistic level to which these quilts were made are truly amazing.

Things such as colors and patterns that Jim like most often are incorporated to his products.   These designs are translated by the colors that Jim use and combine to form elaborate patterns.  Antique pieces and jewel stones also contribute to his designs.  Jim Shore produces all sorts of household products to provide beautification and functionality to people’s homes.  But the most important thing of all for everyone to know is that making art and doing what you like is the motivation that created Jim Shore.
